Frequently Asked Questions

Individual therapy: Spot patterns, ease overwhelm, and learn practical, holistic skills for overcoming trauma, anxiety, depression, life changes, addiction, interpersonal conflicts, and challenges to self-worth. Sessions are collaborative, integrative, and tailored to you.
Couples therapy: Repair connection, improve communication, and stop repeating the same conflicts. We focus on practical, holistic, and embodied steps to rebuild trust and intimacy—no blame, just curiosity and a little humor.
Short-term intensives: COMING SOON— Want deeper shifts fast? We offer embodied intensives and retreats that compress months of traditional talk therapy into concentrated transformation, with appropriate integration support afterward.
Community, not just clinic: COMING SOON— We offer group somatic classes and skill-building workshops that reinforce therapy gains and reduce isolation — because healing often happens in community.
Equine Assisted Psychotherapy: COMING SOON— Horse-guided sessions that support therapy by fostering embodied, nonverbal connection with gentle herd dynamics. Horses mirror emotions and behavior, helping clients feel safe, notice bodily signals, practice regulation, set boundaries, and access deeper healing. These experiential sessions complement office therapy, turning insight into felt change through attunement and the horses’ innate wisdom.
Trauma-informed Yoga: COMING SOON— Nature-rooted and gently guided, trauma-informed yoga is designed for calming and restoring the nervous system . This slow, compassionate practice combines somatic awareness, breath-based regulation, and movement that honors choice and boundaries. Outdoors when possible — under trees, beside water, or on soft earth — so the landscape helps steady you. Poses are invitations; language is non-prescriptive and focused on inner sensations, not performance. Expect sensory grounding, slow embodied movement, micro-mobilities, and guided rest to tune the vagus nerve, reduce hyperarousal, and expand your window of tolerance. Open to all levels — no yoga experience needed. Bring curiosity, layers, and shoes that can get a little muddy.

Unbridled Roots Embodied Therapy doesn’t do “sit-and-sigh” talk therapy alone. We blend somatic wisdom, creative expression, and evidence-based psychotherapy into a single, embodied path to healing — and we do it with curiosity, courage, and a splash of joyful oddity.
Why we’re different:
Body-first, brain-also: Traditional therapy often lives in the head. We start with the body — breath, movement, posture, and sensation — because trauma, stress, and stuck patterns live in the nervous system long before words show up. Shifting the body shifts the mind.
Experiential over explanatory: Insight is helpful, but not always sufficient. We use guided movement, sensory practices, hands-on (when requested and consented), and creative, embodied modalities so change is felt, integrated, and lasting — not just understood.
Nervous system coaching: Rather than only exploring stories of the past, we teach nervous system regulation tools you can use in real time. That means fewer overwhelm spirals, calmer relationships, and better sleep faster.
Personalized protocols, not one-size-fits-all: We blend somatic based therapies, polyvagal-informed psychotherapy, interpersonal neurobiology, horse-human connection, and mindfulness practices into a tailored plan. Your sessions are custom-crafted, immersive experiences, not scripted box-checking.
Relational safety as primary medicine: Our clinicians prioritize building secure, playful, trusting, and attuned therapeutic interactions. Research shows repair and connection are healing — we practice that in every session.
Trauma-informed and empowerment-centered: We hold strong boundaries around consent and pacing, helping you regain agency over your body, emotions, and choices.
Practical outcomes you can measure: We set clear goals and track progress in ways that matter to you — emotional regulation, relational confidence, reduced panic, better sleep, or reclaimed creativity.
It’s not just what we do—it’s how we do it that sets us apart.
