Tarah West, LCSW

Founder and owner

Tarah has worked in the social work field in some capacity for the past 10 years, including addiction and substance use, crisis work, and clinical mental health. She served active duty in the U.S. Army 2019-2027, and has been a mental health therapist since 2020. Tarah graduated with her BSW and a minor in Animal Assisted Interventions from Slippery Rock University in 2019. She was 1 of 4 direct commission officers accepted into the U.S. Army’s MSW program in 2019, graduating through their collaboration with University of Kentucky in 2021, and earning her clinical licensure in 2023. While she has trained in a variety of evidenced based therapies over the years, serving many populations, Tarah takes particular interest in complex trauma, chronic pain, and chronic stress. She is specialized as an integrative trauma psychotherapist, offering uniquely crafted ‘bottom-up’, psychosomatic and experiential based work, along with the help of her herd. Tarah has been a certified Horse Guided Empowerment® clinician since 2025, and is currently on a journey to receive her certifications as a HeartMath® and somatic trauma therapies practitioner, along with additional training in equine-assisted somatic based work. Likewise, she is completing her hours to become a registered trauma-focused yoga teacher.
